Animation and video projects created at Blue Bite and Planet Creative that are branded and unique.

Brand Case Studies

These dynamic animations were created as part of an explainer video for Blue Bite’s connected media capabilities. The animations help to provide prospective clientele with convincing context and information to inform their own partnership. Here, animations assist in highlighting how recognizable brands have utilized Blue Bite’s services in the past.

Target · Budweiser · Ulta

Target

Each of these scenes was animated to convey the connected media cycle for Target from start to finish. The animation begins with passengers’ phones being pinged as Target’s connected media advertisement on the train arrives. Next, a passenger receives a targeted ad later in the day as a result of the shadowfencing ad. Later, we see how Target warehouse locations are geofenced to help with hiring recruitment.

Budweiser

This animation depicts a Budweiser case study in which the company shadowfenced mobile billboards on custom routes to amplify their out-of-home messaging. The animation depicts a serene day in Philadelphia as one of Budweiser’s mobile billboards moves past the individuals in frame. We see phones light up in matching gradients with the connected media advertisement on the side of the mobile billboard.

Ulta

For the Ulta animation, the requirements included depicting a person receiving a targeted advertisement in a coffee shop setting and then walking into the Ulta store. The animation integrated the Ulta color palette and maintained the branded illustration style established at Blue Bite. Creatively integrating a brand’s palette and branding into the Blue Bite palette and style is part of the exciting challenge with animation.

Parallax Rigging for Animation

Parallax is an animation technique used in motion graphics and animation that creates an illusion of depth by moving foreground and background elements at different speeds. Here, we have highlighted several examples where parallax rigging has helped to create a more three dimensional and alive feel to animations.

Camera Zoom

Here, parallax rigging helped to bring a more three-dimensional feel to the camera zoom into the map of Manhattan. Notice how the skyscrapers move past either side of the camera as the camera moves from the sky to the ground.

Camera Pan

Notice that as the camera pans along the horizon with the animated taxi, the background (buildings, trees, clouds) move with realistic-to-life direction.

Unique Transitions

In this animation, the main character remains in the same place. We wanted to show her in public and at home. Parallax rigging was used to create a dynamic transition as the camera zooms out. The bus stop bench is replaced with a couch and the buildings in the background slide out of frame as the living room interior slides into frame.

Animated Storytelling

For this project, the team provided a storyboard with general concepts to work from. The project parameters included utilizing branded character illustrations as well as the Blue Bite color palette to explain the life cycle of connected products (QR and NFC) from warehouse to consumer. Here is an excerpt of that animation.

Bring high-level concepts to life with animations that tell the story in a branded and unique way. Animation offers the opportunity to creatively tell stories without the constraints of the physical world.

Bring static art to life.

One of the most exciting aspects of animation is the ability to take something that is static and bring it to life. For this project, our designer took Green Day’s “Kerplunk” album cover and brought it to life for a karaoke social post on Instagram and TikTok. This project brought movement and dimension to Green Day’s album cover while also providing an opportunity for online users to stitch the video by singing along with the karaoke lyrics.

Animation for advertising.

This digital ad was animated by hand in 30 frames. The animation was designed in both 16:9 and 9:16 so that the digital advertisement could be uploaded across platforms.
